Punakaiki
Punakaiki was the first beach town that I visited in New Zealand. I felt like I was suddenly dropped into tropical paradise. I walked on the beach and found great tide pools. Also, Punakaiki is famous for the "Pancake Rock" formations. I stayed in a wonderful place, the Punakaiki Beach Hostel, which was right on the beach.
