Routeburn Trail
The Routeburn is designated one of New Zealand's "Great Walks", and boy does it live up to that designation. In fact, I would say that the Routeburn track is the best hike I've ever been on. The hike consisted of three days and two nights, spent in DOC huts. The trail went through rain forest, and high alpine tundra and had views of many streams, waterfalls, lakes, high mountains, and even the ocean far off in the distance. The huts were fabulous. The people on the trail were fabulous. Even the weather was fabulous!
